Christmas with Memory Hardware

I'm so ready for Christmas!  I've been having so much fun playing with my Prima products and getting ready!  I created this Prima Framed Christmas tree using lots of Memory Hardware pieces, plus so much more Prima!
I created the tree out of fabric, then went to town decorating it with my Prima stash!  I used Memory Hardware trims, sequins and pearls!  I also used Prima flowers, Snowflake paste, a stencil and even more!  This is a surprisingly easy project to create.   I've been so busy that I haven't had the time to create a video of how to do it, yet... BUT... I will have one up soon!

Don't forget the beautiful Prima Frames to add the finishing touch to all of your canvas projects!  I added some Rub N Buff to highlight the details of the frame for this project.

As always, I invite you to visit the Prima Blog to see what the rest of the design team has been up to!

Prima BAP November!

It's that time again!  Time for the Prima Challenges!  My favorite part of the challenges is that there is something for everyone. If you haven't played in a while, Prima has added a card challenge to the line up, too!

I did a sample for the BAP challenge.  The BAP is always such a great jumping off place for layouts.  I chose to pick up the diagonal idea, a few placements and let my style shine through.

I used lots of Prima's Sweet Peppermint Collection by Frank Garcia.  I love the cute look of this collection!  It's perfect for creating EVERYTHING!  It complimented these sweet photos perfectly!

Prima Rub-on Adhesive and Foils (Written Directions)

The Prima Rub-on Adhesives and Foils make decorating Christmas ornaments so easy!!  They add a beautiful and elegant touch to any project.  I loved adding them to this simple paper mache ornament.

Touches of the Prima Glass glitter accent the foil and Metallique Paints perfectly!

A bit of trim and a few Prima Trinkets... and don't forget those amazing Prima Flowers and you have an ornament that works great for yourself or even as a gift!  Not to mention, all the colors of foils, flowers, glitter, etc. make ornaments easy to customize to fit any look!

Directions:
1.  Paint the ornament with Clear Gesso then with Metallique Paint.  Let Dry.
2.  Make a pattern with cardstock that matches the sides that you want to add foil to.  Cut out adhesive in the pattern before adhering.  Rub-on adhesive.  Apply foil.
Tip:  Work one section at a time.  This will ensure that you don't damage the beautiful pattern of the adhesive.
3.  Apply a liberal, even coat of Gloss Gel.  While wet, cover with glass glitter.
4.  Attach trim to edges of ornament.  Add loop for hanging.
5.  Embellish

New Prima Sweet Peppermint and Confetti Dies

Wow!  That was my first impression of the new Prima Confetti Dies!  Wow again when I saw the beautiful flowers and holly leaves from the Sweet Peppermint Collection!  This is a non traditional color pallet that I love!  So soft and beautiful!

I created a simple shaker card using all the elements together.

The shaker started with one of the cards that you can cut out of the Sweet Peppermint Paper.   I then used foam to make a simple rectangle shaker and filled it with Confetti that I cut out of my leftover scraps of paper.  Super simple and perfectly matched!

And... talk about gorgeous flowers!  These are stunning!  I'm such a huge fan of fabric flowers!!

As always, I invite your to check out the Prima Blog for more examples of all the new and beautiful Prima releases!

New Prima Adhesive Rub-ons and Foils!

This is the NEW Prima Rub-ons and Foils!!  It's another winning combination of Prima products!  As you know by now, the foils are my go to products!  I love them all!

I created this using the new Christmas Rub-ons!  They are the perfect for cards and so much more!!

Check out the pattern of the foil on the sides of my star!  The patterns are so fabulous in this round of releases... AGAIN!

It's super easy to do the edging by using the Prima Artisan Tape!!  It's super strong and will hold long term!  Just wrap it around your project and apply the foils right on top!

Be sure to check out the Prima blog for ideas using all the new products!

It's Prima Day

What a great day it is today!  It's Prima Day!!  So many fun things going on today in the Prima World!  If you didn't start at the Prima Blog, be sure to get over there to see work from the design team and hear all about everything Prima!

I wanted to share a tag that I made.  As you can see, it's attached to a bow.  There is a reason for that!  Instead of a paper tag, I decided to make a tag that would compliment a package but also be a little extra gift!  So, this tag will come right off the package, already has a hook and is ready to be added to your Christmas tree as an ornament.

I started with some of the beautiful Prima Metal for a base and punched it up by adding some equally beautiful Relics and Artifacts.  I used the new Chrome Color Bloom to add color to the Relics and Artifacts Pendants.  It worked perfectly!

I kept it all in the silver and white family by adding white flowers and lots of silver micro beads.  A few more metal pieces and a pretty bow and this one is ready to hang on the tree or even add to another home decor piece.

Hope you are enjoying Prima Day as much as we are!  Be sure to head back to the Prima Blog to get links to all the other designers blogs!

Merry Christmas with new 3 Birds Studio

Hi y'all! Recently, I told you I was in the Christmas mood, so I made another Christmas layout using the fabulous products from 3 Birds Studio!

This layout is proof that the card kits aren't just for cards!  There are so many great shapes and sentiments in the Quilled Card Kits that will work beautifully on your layouts, too.

This beautiful little wreath is in the card kit and is ready to go!  I just added a few of the foil pieces and I had an instant design element for my page.

The quilled poinsettias are also from the card kit.
Tip:  Mix up bit and pieces from other collections.  I used chipboard, pearls, stickers and die-cuts to add interest and dimension.

Don't forget the little touches.  For balance, I added a couple of holly leaves, also from the card kit, to the corner of the  photo to pull it all together.

Supplies Used: Graceful Seasons Paper Pad, Graceful Season Dimensional Stickers, Graceful Season Chipboard Kit,  Quilled Card Kit Holiday season Edition, Midday Medley Sticker Set , Pearlescent and Foil Goodie Box.

Don't forget to drop by the 3 Birds Blog to see what the design team is up to!

Flying Unicorn December Kit- Off the Page

Well, you know that Alda always adds a fun Off the Page item to her Flying Unicorn kits.  For December, she added an adorable little wooden sleigh!  So cute and just perfect to tuck in around your home in December.

I had a lot of fun decorating this one.  Before I started the painting and misting, I took some plain old Elmer's Glue and added some swirls and lines to give it some texture.

Next, I painted the whole thing with gesso.  I sprayed it with some silver mist and let it puddle and dry as it would.  That's it!  So simple!

Of course, it's my project, so I had to add some ribbon and flowers.  The flower is a terrific vellum flower from Prima.  I added some glitter snowflakes and glitter leave that I picked up at Michaels.  I love this time of year!  There are so many beautiful, inexpensive things in all the craft stores!

Since it is a sleigh, and it is Christmas time, I had to fill it with some tiny gifts!  A few little candies and small wrapped gifts would make this a fun little giftie item, too!

Be sure to check out the Flying Unicorn Store to see all the kits and don't forget that Flying Unicorn has a very fun forum where you can learn and get to know the team, too!

More December Kit from Flying Unicorn

Don't you love when you get a kit in the mail and it's AWESOME?
Let me tell you, that I seriously thought this Flying Unicorn Kit was fabulous!  I love the Winter feel of it and the fact that it was a December kit that was non-traditional in colors.
Sometimes, my photos don't really sit well on the traditional colors, so I had so much fun playing up the pinkish colors in this kit.

I used a photo of my daughter and her sweet dog Glory for this one.  I pulled the pink poinsettias out of my stash.  The were made years ago by Prima, but I still love them!

I also added some masking, inking and misting to it.  I wanted it to have a bit more of a shabby look, but still keep it somewhat formal.

You can see here, that I added dimension to the layout with foam, too.  I like the interest that you can get by adding several different heights.  It also makes clustering fun and easy, too!

Be sure to drop by Flying Unicorn to check out the kits each month!  They sell out quickly and you don't want to miss even one!

Getting Ready for the Holidays with 3 Birds Studio

Hi everyone!  I'm sharing a page that I made using 3 Birds Studio.  I'm ready for the holiday season to begin and with all the great choices of new products from 3 Birds, I couldn't resist making a Christmas page!

This layout starts with a fabulous sheet of paper from the Premier Page Kit.  I love the look of this paper for the outdoor photo that I used.  Combining this paper with a peach sticker and doilies, gave me just the base I was looking for.
Because of the colors in the photo, I chose to use non-traditional colors for the Christmas page.  I love the traditional red and green, but I also love to mix it up sometimes and use a different variation.

The title sticker was a natural fit because of the photo, too.  I chose it because it echoes the print on Mom's shirt.
Tip:  I added foam to the back of the sticker to make it easier to layer and to match up with the dimension of the other embellishments.

More layering was added with the flat stickers that were used for design and the terrific poinsettias that are included in the quilling kit.  Here, I used pink centers to continue the non-traditional color choices.

The final touches include a big bow and more bits and pieces from the Quilled Card Kit Holiday season Edition.
