Bo Bunny Challenge!

Hi everyone!  Bo Bunny has a new challenge today!  It is a fun one and know that most of you have those back to school layouts that NEED to be done.  What could be better than getting one done AND having a chance to win a prize, too?!?!

I'm also so excited about this challenge because I did my first 'official' Bo Bunny layout for the DT!!   Yes, I'm still floating around on cloud 9!  LOL!

Here is my layout.  The challenge is to use some sort of school supply.  I used a ruler for my supply.

Here is a close-up of the ruler.  I cut mine down a bit by using my wonderful Tim Holtz scissors.  I've about decided that there is NOTHING those scissors won't cut!

Be sure to check out the Bo Bunny Blog and see the other layouts, too!

And the Winner is...

Hi everyone!!  I had meant to get a winner up earlier.  It has been a busy week.  My daughter has been on vacation this week.  She has been visiting us!  Those of you with grown children know how rare it is to get them home and all to yourself for a few days.  It has been such fun hanging out and spending time with her.  What is even better?  My son has been home, too!  I'll have him home all next week and then it's back to school.  I'm treasuring every minute!

I have to thank everyone who took time to drop by and comment!!  I so enjoyed reading all of your posts!!  Thanks so much!!

A little clarification, too.  A few of you thought that the ribbon RAK is the picture shown.  That is actually the ribbon club assortment at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  My RAK does include some of those ribbons, but it is not the same.  Sorry for not being more clear!

And the winner of the RAK is...

Introducing Daisy!

Hi everyone! I know that my blog is usually about scrapbooking but today, I have to share my new baby with you!

As my close friends know, I lost my beloved yorkie Stormy a few months ago. It was a devastating blow to lose her. I was not expecting it and she was only 7. I'll always miss her and she can't be replace, but after taking some time to mourn, I started the search for a new little friend. I have looked and looked for a puppy. I scoured the internet, got referrals, drove to other towns to look at puppies and then... I found Daisy!

Now... isn't this the cutest little face EVER? How could I not fall in love with this sweet girl?

I flew to Lubbock to see this sweet puppy. My college roommate Lisa had told me about a breeder in Lubbock that had beautiful and healthy dogs. She was SO right!! Thanks so much for referring me to Yorkielicious, Lisa!!

Let me tell you about Yorkielicious, too. I drove out to Terri's (Yorkielicious' owner) home and met all of her gorgeous yorkies. If I ever decide to add another yorkie to our family, it will come from Terri. I won't ever bother to go through the search again. When I got to Terri's home, I was greeted by Martini and her baby, Daisy! Of course, it was love at first sight! That wasn't all though. Terri showed me ALL of her dogs. They are the most social and happy bunch ever! There are no off-limits barriers at Terri's. She is proud of her dogs and happy to show them to you. She has a lot to be proud of! They are healthy and happy and it shows! AND... the follow up... Terri lent me a playpen for Daisy for the night I had to stay in town. Daisy came ready for her new home with EVERYTHING she needed to make the transition. She made sure that Daisy had toys she was familiar with. A blankie that was her mother's was included too! Buying a dog from Terri was exactly the experience that I had hoped for. Daisy's transition has been flawless because Terri already had her ready for her new home.

Ok... I could go on and on, but I HAD to share because if you are looking for a yorkie you need to give Yorkielicious a look!!! Oh... and she's expecting a new litter in September!! I've met Stormie, the mom to be, and she's precious!!! I've met Stewie, the daddy, too. He's also the daddy of Daisy! They are going to be some beautiful puppies!

So, as you can see, my days are filled with FUN right now! Daisy is a busy little thing and we are loving it! I took this picture to share this morning... I chopped of her head because she was moving so fast, but I love it anyway! So, thanks Terri for my terrific puppy!

Seeing this cutie running across the yard is a wonderful way to spend a morning!

Monday Must Have

No... you don't have your days wrong,it's not Monday anymore. For some reason my blog didn't post as scheduled! Probably user error! lol

This Monday is all about the right adhesive. As most of you know, without the right product for paper or embellishments, your projects can fall apart over time. I have had many pages from my early scrapbooking days fall apart in the book.

About 2 years ago, I read in a magazine about the ATG Adhesive Dispenser.

I thought that it was a little pricey but the reviews were wonderful! My other concern about it was the size. That thing is BIG! After asking around at Scrapbook.com and doing a bit more reading, I decided that I HAD to try it. After doing some research, I found the best price that I could and ordered one.

All I can say about this dispenser is Wow! It really is so easy to use. In fact, the tape runs so smoothly with it, that I actually find it much easier than the smaller dispensers that I used before. It is also surprisingly light weight.

On cost, I figured it up and I actually will spend less over time than I did with the smaller dispensers. The initial investment is a bit steep, but after 2 years, I know that it has more than payed for itself. Also, you don't run out of tape often. Each roll is BIG! They are also very inexpensive if you buy them in bulk. I buy them in a package of 12 rolls.

The only downside that I have found to this tool is that you better mean it when you use it! Mean it? If you aren't sure of your placement, don't use it yet. Be very sure because once you tape with the ATG your paper is NOT moving. No more things falling apart in your book.

So... where did I get it? I purchased mine from framingsupplies.com. I also purchase the tape from there. Be sure to buy the Gold Tape. It is the one that is acid free.

There are two different sizes of dispensers. If you are only going to use it for scrapbooking, I would recommend the red one. It uses only the 1/4 inch tape which is perfect for scrapbooking. Because I am not only a scrapbooker and knew that I would find other uses for mine, I purchased the yellow one. It allows you to use wider tapes with it, too. If you purchase the red one, you will need to purchase the adapter to allow you to use the 1/4 inch tape.

This is definitely one of my Must Have products when scrapbooking! What is your favorite paper dispenser? Is there another one out there that I need? I would love to hear from you!

Finally, I want to share a project that I did recently of my great niece. I got this picture at a baseball game. She was such a cutie with her cotton candy! I used Pebbles Ink Twitterpated papers and embellishments for this one. The alphabet is American Crafts Thickers. Such cute products!
