Flying Unicorn August Kit

Hey everyone!  I'm sharing my last layout for Flying Unicorn.

I have decided to step down from Flying Unicorn.  It has been a fabulous year with Flying Unicorn!  I truly enjoyed my time with Alda and all the other Creative Team members! The kits are and will continue to be so beautiful!!!  I'm a big fan and will continue to be!

So, here is my layout!

The kits are filled to the brim with beautiful things!  I did a bit of fussy cutting and a lot of layers.

Of course, the Prima flowers are the perfect finishing touch!!

Be sure to check out what all the team has done with the kits at Flying Unicorn!!  It is always amazing to me the different looks we all come up with!

And... you don't want to miss a kit!  These sell out fast!

Live with Prima

Hi y'all! Recently, I was asked to do a show for Live with Prima.  I was sooooo excited for this opportunity!  It was really fun!

Here is the project that I created.  As you know by now, I'm a HUGE dress form fan!  They are so fun to create and such a great little extra to set around in your home decor.

If you missed the show and would like to see it, you can watch it right here!

For this one, I made the bodice using Prima doily dies.  I loved the lacy look that this allowed.

I also gave a bit of edge by adding metals to the soft, pretty look.

More details of the back.  I added several different textures and shapes.

Hope you will take a look at the class!  Feel free to ask any questions that you might have and I would love to see your take on the dress form, if you make one!

Also, don't forget to watch Live with Prima every Tuesday and Thursday!!!

New Prima Metal

Have you been watching the new Prima releases?  There are so many gorgeous new things coming!  These new metals are one of them and they are gorgeous!!  They are perfect for your home decor pieces, especially!

I altered a large chipboard key.   In addition to the new metals, I used Timeless Memories papers, Chalk Edgers, Mists... and of course flowers!!

You can see a lot of the dimension that the metals, layered wings and flowers add in this view.    So many beautiful products that make creating fun and easy!

Take a peek at the Prima blog to see all the new products that will soon be coming your way!

Prima Special Delivery July Kit

The best part about kits is opening the box and seeing everything that coordinates beautifully!  It makes scrapbooking so effortless!  No searching for just the right thing... it's all included for you!  Prima does it PERFECTLY!

This month, I was able to create with the July Special Delivery Kit and it is a beauty!  Here is the layout that I created.  I also included a step by step for this layout that you can see below.

Step 1:  Use Daisies stencil and Modeling Paste to create a floral background on the Rondelle Cabriole Paper.

Step 2:  Lightly mist Calcutta Leaves with water and use Olive vine ink to color them green.  Use a mini stapler to staple them, as shown.

Step 3:  Fussy cut elements from the Rondelle Polonaise, Songbird Title-it, Songbird Lineage and Coffee break Journaling Note Cards.  Ink edges using the Knotted Wood Chalk Edger.

Step 4:  Build background design using cut pieces and your photo.  Vary dimension by adding foam dots to the back of selected pieces.

Step 5:  Embellish as shown.
