New Prima Love Clippings

Of course, I had to make a dress form with the new Prima Love Clippings collection by Frank Garcia!  It has become somewhat of a tradition to make dress forms.  This one went to CHA.  I loved the heavy rose gold accents on this collection.  It made her dress quite formal and shiny!

This one is larger than I usually make.  It is 20" tall! I covered the paper mache form with micro beads and added Metallique paints.  I also used the rose stencil with 3D gloss gel mixed with Prima Mica Powder to add pattern and sheen to the background.

The little Prima Resin frames were such a pretty accent!

The skirt is made of paper with bits of tulle tucked in here and there. I distressed it a bit and added lots of Prima Glass Beads to it, too.

I fussy cut some of the papers and added them for more pattern and dimension.  Of course, the finishing touch was beautiful Prima Flowers!!

Be sure to go by the Prima Blog to see all the new releases!  They are ALL beautiful!!

New Julie Nutting Dolls and Dies from Prima

Hi!  Today, I'm sharing one of my new Prima Projects that I created using the brand NEW Julie Nutting dolls! This doll reminds me so much of high school and college! Prairie skirts were huge then!  The bigger the skirt, the more pleating or gathers, the better it would look when dancing!  Of course, we wore them with boots, too!

If you look at this angle, you can see all the dimension.  The skirt was cut out in sections and then layered.  Since I'm from Texas, the sentiment was obvious!  :)  I also added some rope, stars and of course, NEW Prima Flowers!

Something else... there are dies for this doll!!!  Be sure to go to Prima's Blog to see all the different new dolls!

Wild and Free from Prima!

I created this using Prima's new Wild and Free collection by Frank Garcia.  This collection is great for so many things and has beautiful rose gold accents.  I started with one of Prima's 12x12 Watercolor Panels that I opened up, rolled back and filled with lots of the Wild and Free papers, elements and Flowers.

I used some of the journal cards that are printed on the papers to tuck into my feather wreath and behind my little birdie.  I also tucked in some of the Ephemera elements.

Of course, don't forget Prima's Flowers!!!  The new release flowers are beautiful, as always!

Be sure to go by the Prima Blog!  We are continuing to showcase all the new releases and you don't want to miss anything!  Trust me!

New Prima Rose Quartz

If I were to have to pick a favorite of the new Prima Releases, this would be the one!  I LOVE the colors, I LOVE the patterns, I LOVE the possibilities!  Rose Quartz is a MUST HAVE!

I created this ballerina using lots of the new papers!

This piece is contained in an 8x10 wooden box.  The ballerina started out as a plastic silver Christmas ornament.

I painted her pink using Prima's Metallique Paint and used Prima's Metallique Paint to add the coppery color.  Her skirt is created with a combination of  Rose Quartz paper and tulle.  Of course, I added Prima Flowers and a touch of ribbon!

Look at the BEAUTIFUL patterns on the papers!!  I used a stencil, 3D Gloss Gel and Art Sugar to add some subtle dimension to both the outside and inside of the box.

One of my favorite aspects of this piece is that because the box was open, I was able to make the skirt as large as I wanted to without it brushing up against the back and IT TURNS!  I drilled a hole in the top, added a drawer knob and attached the ballerina to the bottom with ribbons.

Here, you can see what she looks like from the back when you turn her.

NEW PRIMA IOD Moulds and Flowers

As you might have noticed from looking at my blog, I love birdhouses!  I can't seem to help myself when I see one that I want to alter.  The new Prima IOD Moulds are simply perfect for adding beautiful details to any home decor item and make this birdhouse special!

For this birdhouse, I started by using the borders to add to the gables of my birdhouse. It gave it a wonderful detail that was lacking before adding the moulds.

The next place I used the IOD Moulds was around the opening in the center.  By moulding the paper clay and cutting out the center while it was still damp, I was able to make it work and leave an opening for birdies to sneak into.

These also work perfectly to coordinate with my Prima Resin Bird.  Both items take color so well!  I used Prima Color Bloom to add the soft teal color and the a touch of silver paint to make the high spots stand out to show the lovely dimension of these pieces

Of course, no Prima project is complete without adding beautiful Prima Flowers!  These are new flowers mixed with some old ones to complete the look that I was going for!  I don't think there is anything that Prima Flowers can't take over the top!

Note:  The metal roof is made from thin metal sheets that I embossed and simply glued to the top.

Finally, don't forget the little details to finish off your project.  Prima Snowflake Paste is perfect for any wintery project.

NEW PRIMA Watercolor Confections, 6x6 Resist Pads and Flowers

I had the opportunity to create with the new Prima Watercolor Confections for CHA projects.  Let me tell you that these are amazing!!  They are so pigmented and come in the cutest containers!  A little bit goes a LONG WAY, too!

By starting with the new 6x6 Resist Pads, I was able to create some little shadow box frames that will look nice in my home.  This is the Resist Pad that goes with the Tales of You and Me collection.  It's beautiful!

Here is a photo of the first one I created.  I chose to use the black printed pages for this project to coordinate beautifully with my 6x6 shadow box frames.

This close-up shows some of the dimension.  The resist pad is also especially versatile with the pages that have beautiful elements that you can cut out and use as embellishments to add dimension.  And LOOK at theses NEW FLOWERS!  They are perfect with watercolor backgrounds!

Here is the second one of the set.    It is very similar to the other one so that it will coordinate with the first one.  I chose to use the same colors and the same types of embellishments, too.

Don't forget the Watercolor Confections when you are wanting to coordinate your ribbons, trims and other embellishments with you projects.  I colored them all, even the wood with the confections and it worked perfectly!

Start watching for these in your LSS or favorite online store!  You are going to WANT these!!

Canvas Journal for Tresors de Luxe

This was created using beautiful trim and a key charm from Tresors de Luxe!  I also used a lot of beautiful pieces from my Prima stash.

I picked up this canvas journal from Michaels and went to town adding lots of my favorite things.  It starts with a background of mixed media and builds from there!

The Tresors de Luxe trim is so beautiful and it makes this special for decoration, as well as journaling.

You can see the gorgeous key from Tresors de Luxe better in this picture.  It is such a great size and adds so much sparkle and shine to this project.

Of course, sparkle and shine leads to more sparkle and shine, so I added rhinestone picks and Prima micro beads to keep it going across the entire project.

Be sure to take a moment to check out Tresors de Luxe!  There are so many beautiful things to use there!

VIntage Emporium and New Flowers from Prima

I created this hot air balloon for CHA.  I used the new Vintage Emporium Collection, some new Prima Flowers and of course, Prima Doily Dies!  It was such a fun project to create.  Of course, it's always fun to create when you have brand spankin' now products that are so fabulous!!!

There was a reason that I used the dies, too!  My balloon is layered doily dies that I paper mached around a balloon.  (I used a layer of tissue paper for the first layer.)  There are lots of openings that allowed me to use Prima Lumies tucked in so it would light up.  I was super happy with the way it turned out.  The Lumies are threaded from the bottom through the straws and into the balloon.  To turn it on, all you have to do is turn it over and give the Lumies a twist.

You can see some of the lovely new Prima glittered flowers in this photo.  I used both new and old things that I loved to embellish it.

The banner and the 'basket' were made from the new Vintage Emporium papers.

You don't want to miss a single day on the Prima Blog!  All the new CHA releases are there along with  so much inspiration from the design team!

NEW PRIMA! IOD Moulds, Paper Clay and Stamps

I knew that I would love being on Prima's team and I do!  Seeing the CHA releases and getting them in the mail was such a fun thing!  One of my favorite parts of this release was the new IOD Moulds and Paperclay.  (I honestly can't pick one favorite!)

I think that in addition to being so lovely, my favorite part about the moulds is that they can be used again and again!

For this piece, I started with the IOD Wooden Plaque.  I used some of the beautiful new stamps to frame the outside and stamped on Prima Watercolor paper to create the base for the inside.

I then used the paper clay for the center and added detail to the top and bottom, too.  It is so easy to color!!  I used a bit of Bloom Spray and paint to add some details.  So easy and sits beautifully on the molded pieces.

I added ribbon and micro beads to give the appearance of them spilling out of the vase.  AND.... did you see those flowers?  Of course, they are new, too!

There are SO MANY different pieces and possibilities with these products!  I can't wait to use them again and again!!

Be sure to go by the Prima Blog to see what the other designers have done!  The ideas are seriously endless, so you don't want to miss it!

Don't forget that this week we are finished with sneak peeks and showing off all the full reveals!!
