Bo Bunny

The Bo Bunny Design Team was challenged to use lyrics at the Bo Bunny Blog this week. I am usually humming (much to my husband's irritation) when I'm working, so using a lyric for a title or feel is usually a pretty good fit for me. It's funny that while I was making this page, I had still not come up with which song I was going to use, but Oh Happy Day just popped into my head. I have to admit that I don't even know all the lyrics to this song! lol That didn't stop me though.

Oh Happy Day!

I used the new Alora Collection from Bo Bunny for this one. It's so PRECIOUS!!! I chose to pull out the blue, green and grey elements for the layout, but it also has some terrific pops of red in it! Love it!

I cut out the large flower from the Alora Cut-out paper, layered it with some Double Dot paper and added a bit of glitter glue. The small flowers are from the Alora layered stickers and they already have glitter on them!

I also added glitter to the large chipboard flower and then poke a hole in the center to add a glittery brad, also from the Alora Collection to the center.

Bo Bunny Enchanted

Hi everyone!

This is a layout that I did that focuses on Bo Bunny Enchanted. The collection is a beautiful wedding collection! I love that it is all black and white, so that you can leave it as it is or change it up easily to add whatever colors you would like to.

Although this is a wedding collection, it can be used for so many other things. I know that I'm planning to do some prom pictures with it and I know that it would be perfect for any black tie event.
I couldn't resist using it for one of my wedding photos though! :)

This Love

Boy! Do my husband and I ever look young (and thin!!!) in this picture? We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary soon and would you believe that I've probably only scrapped our wedding 3 or 4 times? One of these days, I'm going to get an album done for it.

You can see that I added some blue (my wedding color) to this layout. I used a blue watercolor pencil to do this. I like to scribble on a piece of scrap paper with the pencil and then use a wet paintbrush to add the color to the layout.

Here is a close-up of some more of the blue that I added. The Bo Bunny buttons make great flower centers. I also added some glitter touches to the chipboard, as seen here.

I had some of the Timepiece collection wrap that I used to make the bow. You can also take the Bo Bunny Jewels and make the strip go around a circle like I did here.

Mini Album Class-Bo Bunny

I am so excited!! This month, Bo Bunny is having another class on how to do a mini album and... the album is one that I made!

Let me tell you how wonderful Bo Bunny Albums are! They are REALLY wonderful! You no longer have to add paper to them. They are already printed!! I love detailing my little albums and having a wonderful printed and shaped album to start with is just terrific!! It cuts down on the time spent having to cover and let the album dry which gives you so much more time to play with your embellishing! PERFECT!! Not to mention, well ok... to mention!...the albums are already perfectly coordinated to go with all the wonderful embellishments that Bo Bunny makes!

Goals at Bo Bunny

The Bo Bunny Design Team was asked to make a project about our goals for 2012.

I am not much of a specific goal setter. Not that I certainly couldn't afford to loose about 20 pounds, but I'm more about working on myself overall. Instead of making a layout, I chose to make an inspiration sign. I saw this quote on Pinterest and actually pinned it onto my 'Note to Self' board, so I thought it was perfect for today's post.

My Goal and My Reminder!

I am the world's worst about thinking things to death!! My kids will attest to the fact that I have the corner on thinking of every senario and then worrying about it! This is a reminder to quit thinking so much about EVERYTHING, even getting this project done. If I spent half as much time DOING as THINKING about what I was going to do, I just might be able to conquer the world!

I chose to mostly use the Vicki B. Collection along with lots of Double Dot papers and ribbon. I wanted this one to be a bit bright and fun. It's for my scrapbook room so it needs to catch my eye, too,

I LOVE the Subway Art that I've been seeing around the net. I think I could use it on every project. I've always loved mixing fonts and alphabets for titles and Subway Art really fits into that love. I used alphabets from several collections to show the message on this sign.

More She Art

First of all, I hope that you all had a

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It was a wonderful Christmas for us. Having our kids home at the same time is always a special treat. It doesn't happen nearly often enough!

I have been so busy with Christmas that I haven't had a lot of time for extra scrapping time. I do have a LOT of projects that I haven't gotten around to posting yet though.

This is another example of She Art. I lifted the idea for the dress from another blog, but for the life of me, I can't find it! I have no idea how she did hers, but this is my take on a 'pretty' She Art girl.

I made this for my Mother-In-Law a few months ago. I wanted to make something a bit more elegant and also something that fit her 'style'.

Believe

She collects angels and I really wanted to give this the feel of being an angel. I searched and searched for wings, but couldn't find any that suited what I had in mind. I ended up buying some crystals and cutting them up to make the wings.

You can see a bit of them here. I just stuck them down and then added Mod Podge to make them really secure so they would stand up to the test of time. You can also see a bit of the masking and stamping here. The word 'believe' is a rub-on.

Here you can see that I used a ribbon for her sash. To get it to stiffen and to stay in place, I first coated it in Mod Podge. After it was a bit tacky, I shaped it into the look you see here. When it was completely dry and stiff, I added several more coats of Mod Podge, being careful not to saturate it again so it would hold it's shape.

You can see the dimension of the dress here. It was done by layering lots of strips of paper and bunching them up. I kept adding more layers until I liked the look. The word 'love' is also a rub-on. I just rubbed it on over the layers. Worked like a charm.

Other tips: I used Lumier Metalic paint to get the sheen on the dress and flowers. The gorgeous corner flourishes are old Basic Grey rub-ons. Dig into your stash to find things that are left-overs. If you are doing mixed media, invest in the Farber-Castell Pitt Big Brushes!! They are worth every single penny of the cost!! E-mail me if you want to know where I got mine. I got a great deal on them!

Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team

I am really excited to be on the Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team again! This time, I got to create with the Wonder and Wishes Collection. The traditional colors in this collection make it a breeze for creating Christmas layouts and projects.

For my first project, I made a layout.

Sweet Helper

I had to laugh when I finished this layout and remembered that I had done a layout of this same little sweetie from last year and used 'Sweet Helper' on the page! :) It just goes to show that it's a perfect description for her.

The clear-cuts are perfect for layering on your projects. I also used some die-cut papers from the collection for layering. Check out the wonderful felt poinsettias from LYB! Love them!

I used lots of different products for the clustering on the bottom right corner. Fabric, flowers, stickers and even pom poms are included in this terrific collection!

I couldn't resist adding a bit of gingham ribbon to compliment all the sweet polka dots. The little stick pins are so perfect for adding detail to a bow. I just tied the twine around the pins and glued the pom poms to the top. Easy and such cute extras from the collection.

Next up is another layout. Take a look at these PRECIOUS little boys!

December Joy

Their grandmother took this picture of them and I couldn't help but think of the joy of grand kids during this time of year. Using the Banner Chipboard and a sticker combined for the title fit the bill.

More layers here. These were done by combining patterned paper, die-cut papers and even a large tag from the album package. LYB does some fantastic albums that have lots of great pieces than can be added to pages, too.

More stickpins through a bow. :) As you can tell, I love that look! I also punched holes in the chipboard piece to pull the ribbon through for added detail. I mimicked the die-cut banner piece with a long hand-cut banner.

Card Sketch Challenge at Bo Bunny

It's time for another Card Challenge at Bo Bunny! Romy provided a great sketch for us to play with this time. If you haven't seen Romy's cards, you should rush over to Bo Bunny to take a look! She does beautiful cards!

This was made with the new Snowfall Collection. It is so beautiful and glittery! I could play with it over and over again... and I will! :)

The sentiment on the sticker is so perfect for a winter card. I used a different jewel for each snowflake as a nod to the sentiment.

Sketch Support One Page Sketch

Happy Thanksgiving! No, I am not nuts! I know that Thanksgiving was yesterday, but... we didn't celebrate until today. My son didn't come home until today because he HAD to attend the Texas A&M vs. Texas game! Although we are not thankful for the final outcome of the game, we are so thankful for the many blessings in our lives. Mostly, we are thankful that we are able to be together for the holidays with those we love.

On that note, I came up with this layout for Sketch Support that features a picture of Jade that I took when she was home visiting for the holidays.

The sketch this month was another one that I really loved! I changed it up a bit to make it work with my one photo. You can see and download the sketch at Sketch Support.

I used lots of layers on this page. This collection from Bo Bunny is just gorgeous for winter photos.

It's called Snowfall.

I decided to do some lacing on the page. The sketch had two pieces of paper side by side, so lacing was a fun and pretty way to connect them and add interest.

Sketch Support Add- On Sketch

Did you know that Sketch Support has Add-on Sketches?

These are little sketches that are great for embellishing, making shapes or even using for altered items. They are the perfect little extra to make you think outside of purchased pieces and inspire you to make some things of your own.

The add-on sketch this month was some terrific pieced together leaves. I chose to incorporate them into a layout. Take a peek in the bottom left corner. What a great way to use an embellishment to pull several colors together for the entire page! The picture and background being almost all green could have made for a pretty page, but using the leaves gave me an opportunity to pull in whatever other colors that I chose.

This is a picture that I took in the side yard right outside of my scrapbook room. We have lots of fawns every spring in our yard. We love seeing them, especially when there are twins.

You can see the close-up of the leaves from the Sketch Support add-on sketch here. To make them, I cut strips of several different patterned papers, stacked them on top of one another and cut the angles all at one time so they would match up in the centers.

I am wild about all of the baker's twine on the market right now. I love how you can add little details with it. I chose three coordinated colors, pierced holes in the paper under the frames and at the edges, then finished it off with a bow. I loved how it fit in the grooves of the corrugated frames.

Bo Bunny Challenge

Be sure to go to the blog to check out the details! The challenge this week is all about your everyday life. I chose to take some pictures of things that I try to do each and every day. Some of the Good Things! After all, I don't particularly want to scrap about housekeeping or errands! LOL

I also used a picture of myself. I very seldom do this, but I think it's important that someday someone will know a bit about the people who made all of these albums. :) It's too bad that it pretty much takes a challenge to make me scrap myself but it usually does! Maybe we should all take a personal challenge to scrap about ourselves every now and again.

I added lots of layers to this layout. I even layered my pictures.

Just another close-up of my page. I used glimmer mist and chalk ink to change the color of that fabulous antique lace flower from Bo Bunny!

One More with Adornit!

This is my last project this week with Adornit! It was such fun getting to guest design for them! The products are such high quality and there are so many cute embellishments and stickers to play with!

Love

The colors of the Happy Hearts collection went so perfectly with this adorable pictures of a friend's daughter hugging her Minnie Mouse! I just couldn't resist making a cute page with it.

I used the cut-out paper to make my title. To make it really stand out on the page, I outlined it with a black marker and attached it with foam tape.

These CUTE daisies are also from the cut-out paper. Try adding a few stitches and brads to the centers for detail.

Another cut-out daisy and one of the journaling stickers finish off the page. Again, I added some stitches for detail.

Today, my layout was done with the Daisy Dew Collection. This one is such soft and beautiful colors with patterns that are wonderful to work with.

The picture that I used is a picture of my kids, niece and nephews. I made the shape by using a pattern that I had previously traced from a die-cut.

Guesting at ADORNIT!

I'm super happy to have been asked to guest design for Adornit this week!! They have such fabulous collections that are such fun to design with!

For my first day on the blog, I chose to use the new Paisley Princess collection.

At first glance, you might think that this would only fit with a sweet little girl picture. I beg to differ! :) It will work with those sweet pictures, but why not go out of the box and play with some big girl pictures?

I did just that since my princess is all grown up now! The fabulous zebra print paper and the edgy font fit perfectly with a picture that my daughter had worked with in Photoshop.

Bo Bunny, Scor-Pal and a Giveaway!!!

I know how we all LOVE giveaways!! This week, Bo Bunny has teamed up with Scor-Pal for a blog hop!!

I have to admit that I had never used a scoring tool. I don't know why I hadn't tried this before! I LOVED it!! It is so easy to use and works perfectly every time, even for beginners!! Such fun!

The post at Bo Bunny today is about stitching. When I was thinking about how to use my tool and experimenting with it, I thought about how perfect the lines come out and decided to use them for stitching guides. I loved how I could just pierce along the lines and add my stitching.

Here you can see how I scored along the card for stitching guides. I also flipped the card over and and did some extra lines to give an embossed look to the card, too.

Look how easy it is to make these squares!! Just score one inch apart along the card, then flip it and score in the other direction. All you have to do then is pierce at each intersection and stitch!

Here are what the cards looked like before I added sentiments and embellishments.

Tip when stitching on cards: Be sure to use tape instead of knots to secure your threads on the back. This will make it easy for keeping it flat on the inside. Simply cover the stitching with paper for a finished inside as well as a great outside!

Step it Up! at Bo Bunny

At the Bo Bunny Blog, there have been several requests for simple layouts. We decided to start with a simple layout and then "Step it UP!" to show how to take your layout to the next level.

My example does add a lot more detailing, but I was careful to keep it easy! After all, not every page should take you forever to accomplish. Some of my favorite pages are pages that came together quickly and easily.

Picks of the Patch

I started with a basic design. The Noteworthy shaped journal paper adds a great design element without taking a long time with going through the trouble to make it yourself. A couple of punched edges, some stickers and your page is done!

Want to add a bit more? Use several colors of embroidery floss to add some small details. You can see here that I added floss strips to the borders, around the picture and around the Noteworthy. Take forever? NO!

For the borders, I just put a hole in the page at each end and pulled the floss all the way across the page. Same thing with adding the purple floss to the picture, just one hole for stitching at each corner.

The only place that took a little time was around the Noteworthy. Still simple though! Take advantage of the area where the colors meet and poke holes for stitching there. It will cut out the time of measuring and placing!

The final touch is to add some big flowers, buttons and some orange dots. The dots were done with Slick Paint. Very quick and easy!

It's One-Page Week again at Sketch Support!

Allison has provided us with an adorable sketch. I am still just crazy about banners, so I decided to really play them up with my design. I added layers of canvas and die-cut banners to come up with this look.

It's one page week at Sketch Support! Allison has provided a terrific sketch for us to use! It's my favorite one so far!! Such a cute sketch with so lots of room to make it your own and use it over and over again!

It's a Girl

This is the daughter of one of my daughter's co-workers. As you can see, she is such a CUTIE! Not to mention, her mom dresses her so adorably!

Her parents are expecting and I know that they are having another little girl. Laynee is always has the most precious little bows and headbands, and on Mom's blog I saw that Laynee had agreed to share her bows. I couldn't resist adding a bit about that to the journaling.

I used some little My Mind's Eye banner stickers for the flags.

She Art!

A while back, on Facebook, one of my friends posted a picture of a canvas she had done and mentioned She Art. I LOVED the look of it! As you all know, the last thing any of us needs is another hobby! :) Well, too bad!! I had to give She Art a go. After searching online for more, I came across an online workshop offered by Christy Tomlinson. I signed up and finally had a chance to start watching the videos. I love the way Christy teaches. It's casual, yet packed with techniques and ideas! And... it's FUN!!

I am such a 'gotta measure it' and 'gotta have my ruler' girl, that I knew that I had to just go with it! Talk about freeing! I'm still in shock that I did this. I know that the scale of my girl is off a bit, but I'm ok with that. I so enjoyed that there were no rules for these girls!

I have to admit that I haven't finished the all of the workshop, but I just couldn't wait to try my hand at a girl. Here is my first attempt...

The part that scared me to death was doing the hair. It took me a while to get up the nerve to do it! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I know that I'll like it better after I've done a few.

In this picture, you can see that I used a lot of rub-ons and stamps. The banner is just MME stickers that I glued on, painted on, doodled on...

Next up... A tiny bow! It is mine, so it had to have a touch of ribbon! I really coated it and stuck it down with Mod Podge, so it won't go anywhere and it's stiff.

Finally, I decided that I was keeping this one. The sentiment is added last and this is the one I chose for me.

So that's it! My first attempt, but certainly not my last!

Bo Bunny Trinkets and Buttons

Today is all about Trinkets and Buttons on the Bo Bunny Blog!

I LOVE costume jewelry and charm bracelets. The Bo Bunny Trinkets remind me of beautiful pieces of jewelry. They have such pretty filigree looking edges and are perfect to dress up your pages, cards or altered items. The buttons from Bo Bunny come in such pretty shapes and finishes. There are also pretty metal pieces in the button packages!

You can see here that I added some of the older Bo Bunny Rub-ons and also some of the Gabrielle Collection Rub-ons to my cardboard. Because my project is on canvas, I cut off the backs of the brads and just glued them on.

The painted background is just acrylic paint on a paper towel roll for the circles (brown), on corrugated cardboard for the stripes (blue) and also on bubble wrap (peach) for the dots. Super simple and quick!

In this picture you can see that I gave the background paper a few spritzes of Glimmer mist. The journal strips are just paper that is inked and 'roughed up' a bit.

You can also add some of your other treasures, broken jewelry parts and charms. I added a few extra little charms from my jewelry making days to this, too. It's such a fun way to make a gift for someone special in your life!

Being a Texas girl, when I saw this tool, it immediately reminded me of leather working tools. When I was a girl, most everyone I knew had a leather belt with their name on the back. Leather working was also a craft that most of us gave a whirl at one point or another. I decided to give my chipboard a leather belt look and this tool worked perfectly for that! Naturally, I wanted to use a picture that was 'Texas' in style, too.

Bo Bunny Winner!

This is Jade when she was a little girl. She is holding a baby chicken in her hands. She has always been such an animal lover. Pictures like this will always remind me of when the kids were growing up in the country surrounded by baby animals. It truly says 'home' to me.

I love to layer my embellishments and Bo Bunny makes beautiful embellishments that make it so easy! The jewels around the journal spot are just the strip of Bo Bunny Jewels. Just work them around the circle.

That Gorgeous flourish is a Rub-on from the Welcome Home collection. I just added some of the individual jewels to accent it.

This is a picture of my husband, brother and mom making candy. Aunt Bill's Brown Candy is a must at all of our family gatherings and I wanted to document it for our scrapbooks.

It's Add-on Week at Sketch Support!

This month, Allison has provided us with the cutest little birthday hat sketch. This one is so adorable and it's perfect to use up some of your littlest scraps.

It's perfect for cards, but it also makes a fun embellishment to add to your pages, tags or anything else you might come up with!

Happy Birthday Card

In addition to making the colorful party hat, I used the pattern to make some white hats to add a bit of interest to my white space.

The fringed top of the hat was made by punching three different circles, cutting 3 tiny triangles out of each of them and adding a brad.

And... If you know me, you know that in addition to the paper strips, I HAD to add some ribbons! The little ruffle along the bottom was made by cutting some ribbon strips, glueing them in half and tucking them under the bottom of the party hat.

Bo Bunny Designer Showcase

Hi everyone!! Hope you are having a great summer!

No... I haven't fallen off the end of the earth! :) Like all of you are probably finding in the summer months, I have been crazy busy! Between planning a big party, making curtains, traveling and having the kids in and out, it seems like I have been running around with my hair on fire!

I have been scrapping though! Not that you would know it by looking at my blog lately! Don't worry though, I'm gearing up to start sharing!

This month is "Get to Know a Designer" at Bo Bunny!

Each weekday this month features a different designer. If you haven't already been to the blog to take a peek... you NEED to! In addition to sharing their families, favorites and inspiration...

If you haven't seen the new Bo Bunny collections, you can go take a peek at them here! Let me tell you... Bo Bunny outdid themselves this release. Talk about 'something for everyone'... it's there!

It's not my turn until August 29th, but I wanted to let ya'll know what's going on!

In the meantime, I have a little Bo Bunny project to share from the last release. I made this using the Vicki B. collection and was SUPER excited that Bo Bunny decided to use in in an advertisement for this collection in a European Magazine! Yay!!!

When I saw this collection, my immediate thought was about Bo Bunny's style. I love it! In addition to Bo Bunny Style, I had my great niece staying with us and had spent the previous weekend making clothes for her paper dolls. I couldn't resist making a little 'stylish dress' from this collection.

In this close-up, you can see the dimension. I used a lot of pop dots to make the layers. I also used the
Bo Bunny wraps and petals to make the little belt. Add a few pieces of emboidery floss for detail.

Hint: I didn't have a hanger that was size appropriate for this 8x10 inch frame, so I just used a question mark and a bracket from a package of chipboard alphabets.

I used a punch for the smaller ruffle on the dress. When you add folds or pleats your paper will curve nicely along the bottom. The bottom pleated petticoat is simply a strip of paper pleated for detail. The edges of the sleeves were done the same way.

Sketch Support One-Page Sketch and a Giveaway!

It's One-Page Sketch Week at Sketch Support! I love the sketch that we worked with this week! I am also wild about these adorable papers and stickers from Doodlebug! This sketch is such a versatile one and I was easily able to make some little changes to suit these precious pictures!

4 or More at Bo Bunny

We have had some requests for layouts showcasing 4 or more photos recently at Bo Bunny. Of course, you ask and we try to deliver! :)

I love loading the fabulous products on my pages, but I also want to make my layouts about the events, too. Adding more pictures to a layout sometimes tells the story in a more in depth way. I also think that there are also times when you just want to use more of your great pictures and adding more to a page meets that need.

Here is a layout that I did for the blog today using 5 pictures. I used the layout of the family as my focal point by printing it larger than the other pictures on my layout. Because I used so many pictures, the main picture is a 3 1/2 x5 photo instead of a more standard 4x6.

I mixed up the title by using layered chipboard and stickers.

The flowers are simply punched paper added to a silk flower and backed by leaves. I love the brads that go with the Zoology collection added to the centers of these.

You might notice that the brackets are raised. They are stickers that I lifted by using foam dots. Use several to keep the sticker from bending in your album.

Here is my take on the sketch. I couldn't resist using the Bo Bunny Liberty Collection for this sketch that is loaded with stars. Instead of doing a patriotic layout, I did a birthday layout.

My son's birthday is on July 3rd so he had a LOT of Red, White and Blue Birthdays!

TIP: Sometimes a picture that is a bit busy can have a tendency to disappear on patterned paper. Adding a white border can help highlight the pictures better. I also like to pop up pictures a bit in this instance. I added two layers of cardstock underneath the pictures to further highlight them.

Supplies Used: Bo Bunny Liberty Collection paper, stickers, die-cuts, chipboard, brads and alphabet. Jillibean soup alphabet (red) and October Afternoon alphabet (blue). DMC embroidery floss.

More Barefoot and Bliss from Bo Bunny!

It's definitely summertime here in Texas! The temperatures are reaching the upper 90's quite regularly! Baby, it's HOT outside!! It's all about water this time of year! I love the new Barefoot and Bliss from Bo Bunny collection for all my water pictures.

At first glance at the collection, you might think that you need beach pictures for this one, but you don't! With all the fun elements, you can use any of your water pictures. This one of my daughter and some of her friends is a picture of them at the lake. I really liked how the colors in the collection complemented the water in the picture. Isn't that wave paper too cool???

The flowers are also from Bo Bunny. The teal one is from the Ad Lib Collection and the orange one is layered with Petal Pushers. To make the leaves, I used a punch for the green leaf. I glued the punched flowers to white cardstock and just cut out around them to get this look.

For a bit more interest and added dimension, I relied on my handy pop dots to mix up the height of the stickers and chipboard.

Sketch Support

I'm really excited to say that I made the Creative Team at Sketch Support!!! I had such a great time with the sketches for the call! I'm joining a really terrific team of designers and can't wait to get started! Allison Davis does such great sketches and I'll be sharing more of them soon!

This is the last project that I did for my submission.

Color Me Thankful!

I couldn't resist doing another little Nifty Gifty! I thought this would be a cute idea for a thank you card and gift idea. Sometimes, I want to do a bit more than just send a card to say thank you.

Here is a close-up of the card. I made the little tag in Microsoft Word, cut it out and added a punched border around it. I used an exacto knife to cut the slits in the card and ran some ribbon through it over the top of the crayons.

And a close-up of the little bucket. Just use hot glue to attach the crayons and add a bow. So SIMPLE and QUICK!

This picture is of my daughter a few years ago in the pool. I love the colors of this collection and just couldn't stop myself from adding a bit of pink to my layout, too.

I cut out the sun from the Cut-outs paper and added some pink stitches. I then layered my flowers, chipboard and leaves. The leaves are both chipboard and die-cuts. I love layering and overlapping embellishments to group them.

New Bo Bunny Liberty Collection

It's Free For All Friday at Bo Bunny! The design team was asked to do whatever we wanted! I just got a fantastic box of the new Bo Bunny Releases in the mail, so of course, I had to play with one of them! I am just loving the new Liberty Collection! The embellishments are over the top! I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the chipboard elements! It's just so perfect for all of those 4th of July photos. Not to worry if you aren't from the USA, this collection also has so many beautiful elements that can be used for other pages!

Never Fails!

This is a layout of my son, on the left, and 2 of his closest high school friends. Every time that I got out my camera to get some pictures of them, they started goofing off! The top picture is probably the closest I have to a 'good' picture of these guys. If you look closely, you will see that Alex is still a bit bug eyed in it! They are such cut ups!! I miss them goofing off and making me crazy now that they are in college. I don't see them nearly enough lately!

I am wild about this cork board 'paper' from Canvas Corp!! It is really thin with an adhesive backing. I only picked up one sheet, but I'm getting more for sure! I love the way it looks on this 'guy' page!

I also used Canvas Corp corrugated paper on this layout. You can see from the close-ups that I added some brown and aqua floss for added detail and to coordinate with the aqua shirt one of the boys was wearing.

Outdoor Fun

This is the Happy Camper Collection and it will be available SOON!

The title on this one was done with one of the Imaginisce Die-Cuts. I distressed the edges of it a bit and added pop dots to it for some added dimension.

Tip: If the pop dots you use have negative space after you've used the the round pieces, just cut the negative space section to use on larger pieces like this. No waste!

You can see the stitching close-up here. Tip: Take advantage of the paper pattern to add your stitching. You can see here that I used the dots on the paper to add my stitching. I just pierced in the center of the polka dots to get the pattern and then added a glam rock to the center of each diamond using the i-rock. No measuring! Yay!

Tip 2: Notice the tone-on-tone brown tree paper? It's some of the terrific packaging that the embellishments came in!

Tip: Layer your embellishments for added interest. Use pop dots to vary the dimension.

Retirement Card

This is a Super Simple Card! A bit more packaging, a few more pop dots and fabulous layered stickers and you are good to go!

The adorable stickers dictated the sentiment on this card.

Tip: I just used Microsoft Word to do the borders and the lettering on the inside. Use the 'insert shapes' tool to make borders. So easy!

Bundle of Joy

Using the adorable Little Cutie Collection!

This is my little great-nephew and his daddy.

He has a twin sister but I just chose to focus on him for this one.

Tip: The yellow star bracket shapes were cut out of more of the packaging!! I LOVE how these Imaginisce collections have such adorable packaging! The best part is that nothing is actually stuck to the packaging, so all you have to do is use it! Packaging done this way gives you another complete design element.

Tip: Notice that the yellow stitching isn't actually stitch much. I just added a few holes and did super BIG stitches for the border. Although I usually only stitch with 3 strands of embroidery floss (like the blue stitching) When I do the border this way, I use all 6 strands.

Baby Boy Card

The dimensional journal stickers make Great hang tags for packaging!!

The giraffe is another of those fantastic die-cut elements! I added a touch of ribbon and then added a couple of the Brad Daddies for added interest! Love this adorable polka dot giraffe!!

So Very Sweet

More of the Little Cutie collection!

I love how the collection has girl elements and boy elements. On this one, I used a ton of the embellishments and check out those Roly Rosies! I had not used these before now but let me tell you, I'll be using a LOT more of them! They are so easy to use and they are also double-sided!! I love that! Choices!

Tip: Notice the brads? To get the flowers in just the right place, turn your punch over and place your paper. You can see exactly where your flower will be this way.

Little Girl Card

This one focuses on the i-rock. Tip: My favorite part of the i-rock is that you can place your jewels exactly where you want them and then heat and set them! I love that there is no commitment before you decide or having the sticky not work because you changed your mind. The i-rock is so terrific!! You get to do all of your decision making and only THEN do you set them!

Tip: I wanted a soft purple color to match the chipboard flower. I just used a Sharpie to color clear crystals. Also, I just took a stitch through the little canvas sticker girls to make hang tags. I couldn't resist adding a couple of jewels to their little bows!

Sketch Support

I have been sitting on these pictures for a while. When I saw these Pink Paislee Soiree papers, I thought they would be just right for these sweet pictures. I just love these adorable pictures and the colors in the papers were a perfect match.

I used a sketch from Sketch Support for this layout. It's very close to the sketch but I did make a few small changes to suit my page. Sketch Support is a great place to get lots of inspiration! Be sure to check it out! In addition to 1 and 2 page layouts, Allison Davis also does card sketches.

Celebrate! You're 1

You can find the sketch here. It is Sketch # 10.

The sketch has patchwork and stars on it. I chose to make a harlequin like pattern by handstitching on my page instead of using the suggested pattern and the stars. I added a large number 1 that I cut out with my KNK and matted.

I added some little buttons to two edges of my layout. I made these using the Epiphany Crafts button maker tool and round #14 buttons. I also made the little card in Microsoft Word and just printed it out.

The sketch had 3 small photos along the bottom of the layout. I chose to used the adorable cards and stickers from Pink Paislee instead of pictures. I also moved them a bit and grouped them differently than they were. Lastly... you know me... it had to have some ribbon, so I added a large pink gingham bow!

Today, at the beginning of May, we are focusing on flowers at Bo Bunny. As you probably know, Bo Bunny has been making some gorgeous flowers to compliment their newest collections. I used the Vicki B. Collection to showcase many different kinds of flowers on my layout. It is a fabulous collection with the perfect colors to compliment outdoor, springy pictures.

Grow Love

My idea was to use a lot of different kinds of flowers without overwhelming my pictures. By using a more neutral paper for the background, it let my pictures and flowers have the spotlight. Notice that the background paper does have flowers on it too! :) My favorite part of the layout is that Laynee is wearing a flower print dress and even is helping her mommy plant flowers!

By looking closely at the close-ups, you can see that I used the Bo Bunny petals and flowers, but I also took it a step further. I added flower trim, flower buttons, metal flower trinkets, a flower Noteworthy page, flower journaling card, flower chipboard and even a flower sticker! Whew... that's a LOT of flowers!

I declaring it official! I'm a flower addict!

This could not have been a more fun assignment for me! I had a blast and hope that you are inspired to see how many flowers that you can add to your layout!

Card Challenge Tuesday at Bo Bunny

I did a lot of layering of chipboard and a sticker on this one. If you want to layer a sticker, just back it with transparency to help it retain it's shape. Add pop dots for dimension and you are good to go! This works great in your scrapbooks, too.

Monday Must Have - Green, Blue and Brown and an i-rock

It is probably a weird Must Have, but I have to occasionally scrap with these colors! It is my absolute favorite color combination. When I saw the Twig Collection from Little Yellow Bicycle, I had to have it!! I was so lucky to win some in a LYB challenge, but I had to buy even more! I'm telling you I could scrap with this one for days!!

This is just a little page that I did for fun! It is a picture of one my daughter's friends and her PRECIOUS little girl!

This is Love

I just love the way she is looking at her daughter and the smile on her face says it all!

I want to give a little shout out to my friend Susan Goetter! I was inspired by her to add little flowers to my felt leaves. She did a lovely page with punched flowers layered with stamped leaves. You can take a peek here at it : Susan's layout.

If you haven't gotten one yet, you REALLY need to get an Imaginsce i-rock tool! Speaking of Must Haves... I don't think I would ever attempt to put down this many individual gems without one!! It makes it so quick and easy!! If you remember from an earlier blog post here, it also has studs! VERY cool and a definite MUST HAVE!

So, I would love to know what your favorite color combination is! I'm hoping to try out some that maybe I haven't before.

Easter Treats

It's almost Easter! Are you ready? Have any little ones in your life? Of course you do!

My kids are grown and I don't have grandchildren yet, but that didn't stop me from making up some little treat holders. I do have great nieces and nephews! I made these little treat holders using Bo Bunny Double Dot Supplies. These are about the size of a cupcake holder.

I really love how the new Bo Bunny Striped Double Dot designs worked with the woven look.

I used a variety of punches for these. To make the bottom of the holder lay flat, just clip in a bit between each scallop. This will also give you more work space to glue them together. I used a 2 1/2 circle punch for the bottoms.

Tip: I made the woven pieces all at the same time. I did the weaving on top of a 4 1/2 by 8 inch piece of cardstock. I then cut them into 1 1/2 by 8 inch strips to make the baskets. The weaving was done with 1/4 inch strips of the Coffee Striped paper. Be sure to use enough tape underneath to hold all the strips in place when you cut.

Supplies used: Double Dot Papers Coffee Stripe, Coffee Dot, Ocean Dot, Wasabi Dot, Buttercup Dot, Citrus Dot, Blush Dot. Double Dot Ribbon Concord, Kiwi and Butter Cup.

Other Supplies- Misc. Border Punches and 2 1/2 Circle Punch.

Focus on Timepiece at Bo Bunny

Today the design team at Bo Bunny is focused on the Timepiece Collection. This collection is so perfectly suited for heritage pages. What is terrific about it is that it is suited for so much more, too!! I really enjoyed working with it for this more edgy photo of my daughter and her friends. Of course, it is loaded with clocks and keys... which I LOVE!

These are the Best of Times

I am just crazy about this picture! I love the edgy feel of it and wanted to go with that look for my layout. Of course, my style isn't usually edgy, so I'm not sure if I hit that mark, but I'm really happy with how this one turned out.

So... I'm dating myself, but the title came from the Styx song! The added benefit (or curse depending on your thinking) is that I've been humming that song for 2 days! It brings back so many memories that I tempted to call my high school friends today! Trust me... they will remember that song and the memories of my first car! :)

Now... I have to know... do you remember this song? Or... do you have a song that the minute you hear it, you are instantly immersed in wonderful memories?

Monday Must Have-Simple Stories

It's been a LONG time since I did a Monday Must Have! I HAD to revive the Must Have for today! Things have been so busy around here lately that I haven't had as much time to scrapbook as usual. Things are calm now, so yesterday I sat down with my new Simple Stories Life Documented collection and just played and played! These papers speak to me! :) Seriously, they are so up my alley! They have it all! beautiful papers, great stickers with terrific shapes, journal cut-outs, transparency... I could go on and on! These are distressed just the right amount to suit my style, too!

I love the entire concept of Simple Stories (check this out) and I love that you can do fussy pages with the collections, too! I already have plans to make a few layouts mixed with sheets of the outtakes. I decided to play with a picture of Alex and then had to play with a couple of pictures of Jade. I really love how this collection suits my 'older kid' pictures! I also loved that my boy and girl pages came together so effortlessly with all the little elements that are included in the packages.

See... I told you I could go on and on!

Watch Out World

This is a page of Alex (far left) with his friends before Graduation. We took them out to a creek to take pictures on this day.

I added a bit of ribbon, stick pins and cardstock for the green star. Everything else is from the Life Documented Collection and the accessories package.

I Love College Life
This one is of Jade (in blue) and some of her friends while she was in college.

The shapes and versitily in this collection is amazing! If you know me and my style, you know that I can't resist shaped pieces. I couldn't help myself and cut my papers into a shape, too! :)

Sketch Challenge Friday at Bo Bunny

It's another Friday challenge at the Bo Bunny Blog! It's always a great way to be inspired and have a chance to win some Bo Bunny goodies!

This Friday we are having a sketch challenge. Guess who was asked to do a sketch? That would be ME! Now, I have to admit to a 'tiny' bit of panic here! :) I have never done a sketch before! Thought about it, but never done one. I did manage to do one though! I had no idea how to make fancy edges or to add flourishes, so my sketch is pretty basic. I like that because I'm going to get to see what YOU will add to it to make it yours. If you've never done a sketch, let me encourage you to do so. It was a lot of fun to play with shapes and balance on the computer.

So here it is... My first ever sketch!

Here is the layout that I made with my sketch. I used the new Gabrielle Collection from Bo Bunny. I LOVE this collection! It is so soft and beautiful and I thought it was perfect from some of Jade's senior portraits.

Tag, You're It! with Bo Bunny

TalkingTags with Bo Bunny! Tags are one of those versatile embellishments that can serve so many purposes. They can be simple embellishments, journaling spots or even a place to put an extra picture or two.

For this layout, I decided to use them to tuck away the details about this picture. The question of placement was solved by putting them along the edges. Instead of just tucking them underneath the center sheet of paper, I decided to stitch along the front to make pockets. My favorite part of this idea? The stitches added another design element. It works perfectly, too! The tags pull right out from between the layers.

Out On a Limb

This layout was made with the fun and fabulous Ad Lib collection. I thought that it went really well with this funny photograph. The one getting strangled is my son... he deserved it, too! :) We took this picture in the park with a huge group of kids. Even though they were seniors in high school, there was just no way that they could resist climbing this old and HUGE tree! They had a blast!

You can see how the pockets were made in these close-ups. I used my Cricut to make different tag shapes and added a bit of Double-Dot ribbon.

Supplies Used: Ad Lib Collection Paper Stripe, Verbiage and Scribbles. Ad Lib 12x12 Chipboard, Layered Chipboard, Dimensional Stickers, Noteworthy, Life's Good Stickers and Buttons. Double-Dot in Coffee Dot.

Scrapbooking and Beyond - Gadget Girls

It's the start of a NEW series at Scrapbooking and Beyond! Follow the Gadget Girls this year as we try out new tools. We'll show you how we used them and also what we loved about them. The first tool that we gave a test drive was the Imaginisce Irock Tool. This is one fantastic!! In addition to adding those special little touches, it is so EASY to use! This one is a Must Have for sure!

For my layout, I decide to add some subtle touches. I used the pearl colored Glamrocks to outline part of my design. I also used the blue Glamrocks to add some dimension and extra detail to the patterened paper. I really like how, although they are small, the metal 'studs' add so much impact to my page!

Oh Happy Day!

In addition to having my layout in the magazine, I was WAY EXCITED to see it on the cover of the magazine!!! I don't think that I will ever get used to having my layouts published! It is so exciting every single time!!

Catchy Titles Tuesday

Today is Catchy Titles Tuesday at Bo Bunny. I am the WORST at titles! If I were to choose something that I need to improve on most, I would definitely say it was my titles. This time, I got lucky! Tara and Christiane both used the same title and the same collection for their layouts. Of course, that was perfect for me since it gave me the chance to just follow their lead! :)

So what was the title?

Forever Young

This is a picture of Jade a few years ago on the Tea Pot Ride at Disney World. It's a blurry one, but when it's picture that makes you remember something special, I think that's perfectly ok to scrapbook it. After all, like memories, not every picture is perfect.

Design Note: The butterflies are from a necklace that I picked up on clearance at Claire's. I loved the way these were metal and went so well with the Midnight Frost metal brads. I just pulled the butterflies off the necklace and glued them to my page. Be sure to check out jewelry clearance sections when you are out and about! There are some terrific embellishments to be had.

Farewells and Change

Today is about changes and taking a moment to say farewell. Changes are always hard but can also be the right thing, too. After much thought and prayer, I have decided to step down from being the Design Team Coordinator and on the Design Team at My Creative Scrapbook.

This was a really difficult decision. I have truly loved being a part of the team at My Creative Scrapbook. After almost 3 years, I have made wonderful friends and memories. Pam and the design team girls are such sweet and supportive people. I have grown and learned so much from each of them about scrapbooking. They have all inspired me, pushed me and taught me to be a better designer. Most important of all, they have been my friends. I will truly miss being on the team.

So, today I'm saying farewell to being on the design team at MCS. I am not disappearing from MCS, just taking on the role of being a friend, a fan and a member. I Love Pam's Kits and Love MCS!

I decided to share some of my favorite layouts from my years at MCS today. After 3 years of multiple kits each month, I could go on and on with kits that I loved best. I decided that 10 favorites was enough for one post! :)

Bo Bunny Challenges!

Don't Burst My Bubble - Bee Mine

Tips: I made this using the packaging from some Bo Bunny Buttons and Bling. I love recycling my packaging when it's empty. I just cut off the excess plastic and kept the round circle for the 'bubble' of the machine. The chipboard lettering and candy was placed inside and then I used some hotglue to hold it together. The letterstickers were added to the paper that backs the 'bubble'. I love how the clear packaging allowed me to layer my message.

Candy Used: Gumballs and Conversation Hearts

Supplies Used: Crazy Love 6x6 Pad, Crazy Love iCandy Brads, Crazy Love 12" Chipboard,

Bo Bunny Card Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone! Hope that your February is off to a great start! Here in Texas, we are feeling the blast of winter. It is crazy weather in Central Texas. Just last week it was 75 degrees and now it's freezing again. You never can tell what it's going to be like outside in Central Texas. The weather can change on a dime.

I had the chance to catch up with friends that I don't see often last week. We had our annual business trip with my husband's company. It's amazing how we don't see each other often but always just pick up our friendships as if it were yesterday.

I had the trip and friendship on my mind when I made this card for the Sketch Challenge this month. Romy shared a great sketch for us to work with!

Friendship Never Melts Away

I used the adorable Winter Joy collection for my card. I love the beautiful soft colors in this collection. I decided to put my card on transparency for a bit more of the icy feel. It's a bit difficult to tell in the picture, but the purple patterned paper is inside of the card to give room for the sentiment or note.

Little Yellow Bicycle Challenge

When I heard that my friend Liz Qualman was having a sketch challenge at Little Yellow Bicycle, I couldn't resist playing along. Liz's sketches are the first sketches that I ever used and she just keeps hitting them out of the park!

Of course, Little Yellow Bicycle has such wonderful products that it makes it easy to come up with a cute page! This challenge is to use Liz's sketch and the new LYB Cupcake Love collection.

Here is what I came up with...

Love our Candy Girl

This is our great niece. I got these pictures at a baseball game. Isn't cotton candy the best part of going to the game?

Little Yellow Bicycle has the cutest cut-out sheet to go with this collection. I just cut out the lollipops, added some pop dots and a bit of ribbon.

The collection also had adorable chipboard and little embellishments to play with.

I didn't have exactly the right color of chipboard letters, so I used a tip from my friend Sandie Vincent. Just use a sharpie to color your glitter letters. They will stay glittery too!

The little banner is also part of the cut out sheet. Super cute! I added some stitches and a bit of ribbon to make my banner.

Here is Liz's sketch that this one was based on. You can see that I didn't make a lot of changes to the sketch because it really fit my pictures perfectly.

Two Page Layouts at Bo Bunny!

Boy... I think that things are finally slowing down around here. It has been a fabulous holiday season and we had a great Christmas. Problem is... it's been an endless parade of parties, visiting and company! I wouldn't change a single thing about it, well maybe the fact that my brother's dog ate the ear off my cute yard bunny, fished the thermometer out of the pool and lastly broke my birdbath! It has meant that I am so behind on blogging! December and the beginning of January have just gotten away from me! All of my plans to keep my blog updated have flown out the window! Hope that you are all recovered now, too! Hhmmmm... think it's too late to share Christmas pictures? lol

Back to scrapping things now!

Each month Bo Bunny dedicates one of our blog posts to 2 Page layouts. Like I told ya'll a few months ago, it had been so long since I had done one of these. Now, I'm on my 3rd! I really love the way a two page layout tells a story. In fact, I think that the pictures on this one say everything and I chose not to journal at all. Of course, journalling could have easily been done, too!

Here is my layout featuring the new Crazy Love Collection. This collection is about the cutest thing ever! I love that the pink is complimented with brown. There is just something about pink and brown that draws me in. Love it!

Baby Love

Note: The color of the brown in the collection is a wonderful chocolate brown. The rainy days are just not doing me any favors in taking pictures of my work lately!

As you can see, the newest addition to our family is twins! These are my niece's new babies. I wanted this one to be a story of the babies' first moments. I decided to include not only Mommy and Daddy, but to also included each of their other children greeting their new siblings.

Pam added the Pink Paislee Parisian Elements, too. They are beautiful and the ways you can use them are endless! Be sure to go by My Creative Scrapbook to have a look!

Worth the Wait

This is a picture of my niece while she was carrying her twins. If you look closely at her wrist, you will see her hospital bracelet. She had to spend some time in the hospital before the twins were born. I can't imagine that was fun especially considering she had 3 children still at home, too.

The doily was sprayed with glimmer mist and then I inked the edges. To make the leaves, I just folded some ribbon in half with a bit of double sided tape in between. I then cut it at an angel and used glue dots to add it to my page.

Pretty as a Picture

This is Maddi, my great niece. She was one of the ones waiting at home! I don't get to see her often enough and I can't believe how grown up she looks here!

I just used sharpies to color in the details on the Parisian Elements Circle. I added a few crystals to the centers of the flowers.

Birthday Girl

Isn't she beautiful? This is a friend's daughter on her birthday. On this one, I cut up the vine in the kit to use in my flower cluster and in the top corner. I also fussy cut another sheet of paper and layered it over the background paper. The crystals are colored with a gree sharpie to make them show a bit more.

My Creative Scrapbook Reveal - Main Kit

Wow! Pam has done it again with the kits this month! The January My Creative Scrapbook Main kit is out of this world! It features Webster's Pages Sweet Season. I am wild about this collection. The colors are gorgeous! Pam did it right and added so many beautiful extras. The flowers, gorgeous trims and even glass beads are all the perfect fit for the wonderful paper collection.

Here is what I did with the Main Kit this month...

A Taste Of Winter

To make the pleated banner along the bottom of my Taste of Winter page, I used a punch to make the scalloped edges. I then just folded back and forth as shown in the close-up and added glitter. Once you have each one finished, you can attach them.

Pleating the paper gives you a lot of freedom in arranging to the shape you want.

Sweet Snacks

To make the cupcakes on my layout:

Cut out a cupcake from the paper.
Trace it onto cardstock and cut that out.
Cut the cupcake apart between the icing and the cupcake holder.
Attach the 'holder' to your cardstock cupcake and then glue the trim along the top.
Attach the 'icing' overlapping the trim (just a bit) using pop dots.
Add rough glitter to the seam between the 'icing' and the trim.
Lastly, add the brad to the 'cherry' on top.

Here is my project to share today. I have been itching to play with the Crazy Love collection. This adorable picture of my new puppy seemed to be the perfect fit for this collection. Even the name fits since we are just crazy about our Daisy.

I just couldn't resist using this title. Poor little Daisy. I pushed back a chair and broke her toes. This is a picture of her wearing her cast. It was as big as her! I had to laugh when the vet brought her out in her pink cast and it had this little blue heart on it. The vet understands us! Of course, right after I took this picture, Daisy ripped off the blue heart and ate it! Thankfully, she only had to wear it for a day until her special protective boots arrived from Canada. Would you believe that they only make doggie boots that were small enough to fit her in Canada? Daisy is all healed now and as busy as ever.

Hopping with ADORNit - Day Three

This is the last day of our ADORNit Blog Hop. We are winding up the hop with the Pink Hoot and Fern collections. They are the perfect palette of brightness and fun to scrapbook the amazing children in your life. These collections are so much FUN and make for the most fun altered projects! I chose to use Pink Hoot on a terrific from ADORNit.

After I spread everything out on my table and started planning my project, I noticed one of the stickers said, "Look whooo's too Cute." That was it! I had my idea! I decided to turn my plaque into a mirror with that sweet little quote. I am going to give this away to one of the little girls in my life.

Here is my Mirror Plaque:

Before you make the ruffle, trace the shape of the plaque onto the patterned cardstock. Be sure to trace the place where the holes are to string your ribbon through. Set this aside for later.

To make the striped ruffle, I cut 1 1/2 strips of the cardstock. I then cut little slits about every 1/2 inch. Just cut around half way through the strip, you want your strip to stay in one piece. Then on the opposite side, at each of those 1/2 inch slits, I gave the cardstock a little pinch. This process will make your paper more pliable and will make it easy to follow the curved edges. Use a strong adhesive to adhere it to the outside edge.

The next step is the small scalloped ruffle. I cut 3/4 inch strips for this ruffle. I then used an EK Success punch to make a scalloped border along one side of each strip. Fold these as shown in the picture below. You don't need to cut slits in this one. It's size is smaller, so it follows the curves very easily. Attach it to the plaque.

Use adhesive to adhere the traced and cut-out background paper to the plaque.

To make the owl, I enlarged (about 25% bigger) a copy of the adorable owl on the paper. I started with this shape to make the 'back' of the owl. I used the pattern to add the paper wings and feet. The raised body of the owl was made using some plasic packaging from an almost empty package of flowers. It gave me a nice, slightly raised circle to work with. Just make a couple of punched strips and fold them up and adhere them to the plastic along the bottom. Trace the top 2/3 (approx.) of the circle and punch the edge. Lay that on the top of the owl. Finally, cut out the owl's eyes from the patterned paper and use pop dots to adhere them. Add a tiny bow with the ADORNit ribbon and you are done!

I just sketched the tree limb and the leaves. Glue those to the plaque and add your owl.

The finishing touch is to add some of these adorable stickers to the plaque. I LOVE THESE STICKERS! I used pop dots for more dimension. I also added some doodles to the sticker. Lastly, pull some more of the ADORNit ribbon through the holes and tie a knot for hanging.

The Kid's Table and Bo Bunny!

Two posts in one day? It's a record! Please scroll down for the blog hop!

Remember the dreaded Kid's Table? You know the one... a card table pulled out of the garage with the left-over dishes? Sitting... Sighing... and Wondering what was going on at the good table ... why they had the pretty stuff and if they would EVER finish dinner so you could open presents!

Boy... I didn't realize how much I didn't like the kid's table! lol

Well, I have the solution to the problem. Pull out your Bo Bunny and make it a table where they want to sit! Here is a picture of an example of a child's placesetting. Most of you won't know that I love gingerbread men. {I'll show you in a new post in a few days! :)} This little place setting was a natural fit for me.

Start a tradition: The little red wine glass was my grandmother's. When we visited her, we got to drink out of this glass. When she passed away, these glasses were something that I was so thrilled to receive. Every time I pull them out, I think of her. Unfortunately, this didn't help with the kid's table at Christmas because she only had 2! :) You can bet that when I have grandchildren, I'll share these and start my own traditions, too!

Place Card: These are so easy! Just pull out your Bo Bunny Double Dots! I just love those papers! The holly leaves were made using the Olivia Wraps. Just cut out holly leaves and glue dot them under your bow. I really like the added texture they add.

Gift Box: This is just a folded little gift box made from more Bo Bunny Double Dot paper. I used a tiny gift box that I picked up at our local craft store, pulled apart and used it for a pattern. You could add treats, or you could add some tiny trinket toys to entertain your little ones while they endure the endless wait for opening presents!

Napkin: Remember your mom walking by and cleaning you up with that horrible scratchy and stiff napkin? A good solution, when making your napkins, use flour sack cloth or some similar soft fabric. After all, this table is supposed to be kid friendly. It's a cute homespun look, too! If you take the extra few minutes to sew on your Bo Bunny Buttons, it will be something that you can use over and over again.

Note: The truth is that I couldn't find a white dinner napkin! I do like the way it turned out though and I'm keeping it! :)

Ornament: Give the kids an ornament to remember this Christmas. Drop it in a wine glass for added decoration. You might want to add a tag with the date. I just hot glued Bo Bunny Buttons to a red foam ornament, tied a bow and added a small ribbon for hanging. Easy and Fun!

Finally, add some striped straws and if all else fails... remember that first picture? You know, the one with the huge cookie? I'm not above bribery! Let them eat desert first... but ONLY if they sit at the kid's table!

Sock Hopping with Adornit! Day 2

This one is another really versatile collection. It has so many options included all in one collection. Anything from summery and bright to wintery and rich goes with this fabulous collection! Today it is my turn to share some cards that I made. The Vintage Groove collection made these really easy to do. There are wonderful papers, great stickers and of course, the beautiful ribbons.

With my smile card, I really concentrated on just the paper. I just fussy cut some of the flowers and the title spot, then added lots of pop dots. Finish up with a bit of hand stitching and a bow.

My next card is something new that I tried. I used a punch to make three scalloped squares. Instead of using the punched shapes, I used the negative that was left after punching. Again, I added pop dots between the layers of paper to add a bit of extra dimension. Super easy! Add some punched and scrunched flowers, pop on one of the fabulous journal cards and that's it! Another easy one!

Hopscotch with Adornit! Day One

Today is such a fun day!! Adornit is hosting a blog hop! This is the first day and there will be two more! Each day, you will have an opportunity to win the collection featured. First Up is the Misty Collection!

What fun it has been to play with such quality products. I alway love working with a collection that is so versatile and yet perfectly suits my own style. The colors in this collection are really rich and beautiful. Embellishing is easy when you have so many beautiful stickers and ribbons. If fussy cutting is your thing, there are papers that are perfectly suited to that, too.
Here is my project:

In addition to wonderful double sided papers, there are such fabulous stickers! Below, you can see the close-up of my flower cluster. It is made almost entirely of clear and cardstock stickers. The only thing I added was a bow from some of Adornit's beautiful ribbon! Did you know that Adornit has ribbon? Well, they do and it's gorgeous!

Even the grey flower is a sticker. I just fussy cut it out of one of the stickers, added some popdots and it was ready to go on my page!

Christmas Ornaments!

It's that time of year! It's starting to look a lot like Christmas around the Herring house. I've been decorating the house and even making some of my ornaments! I love making ornaments to decorate my tree. I think that it gives such a personalized touch.

The first one I made was all about Bo Bunny! I used the Noel collection to make this one. I just started with a store bought ornament and then added a bit of paper, some chipboard pieces, a rub-on and some of the fabulous trims from Bo Bunny. So simple and it looks great on my tree!

A little hint about the green trim around the edges... Just use a hot glue gun to apply the trim. While attaching the trim, fold it in half along the stitch line and glue only the center part. It will give you a pretty double ruffle effect. Be sure to check out the Bo Bunny Blog for more ornament ideas from the design team!

I also made some ornaments using the FABULOUS kits at My Creative Scrapbook! The first one is from the Main Kit and isn't it great that it also features the Bo Bunny Noel Collection? Gotta love that collection! I chose to put this one in a bread bowl full of potpourri, but it could be hung from the tree as well.

The next one was made using the Limited Edition Kit at My Creative Scrapbook... SUPER easy! Just take a vine from the kit and either use glue dots or hot glue to wrap it around a glass ornament. Tie a bow on the top and add a few berries! Simple and pretty!

The last one was a little ornament and card set made using the Album Kit at My Creative Scrapbook. Christmas never gets by my house without a little something that revolves around gingerbread men. I love them and they take over my kitchen at Christmastime.

Two Page Layouts

This month, one of my assignments at Bo Bunny was to create a two page layout. Until last month, I hadn't made a two page layout in YEARS! I have to say that I'm really enjoying them. I love that I have so much more room to put my pictures and tell the story with two pages. And... more room for fabulous Bo Bunny papers and embellishments! What a great combination!

Here is what I came up with. I used the gorgeous new Midnight Frost release.

This is the kids years ago on a rare winter vacation. Being from Central Texas, we don't have REALLY cold weather often. The best part was that it snowed the next day and they had a blast playing in it!

To Alter or Not to Alter? Bo Bunny

To Alter!! Of course!!

Today Bo Bunny is featuring some fabulous altered projects from the design team. You need to be sure to check it out and see the beautiful things that the dt has come up with. Inspiration abounds!

If you know me, you know that I love to alter things. I have been doing altered items for most of my adult life without actually having a name for it. There are so many possibilities with altering! For today's Bo Bunny post, I decided to make an angel. I had a lot of fun with this one! I also just love how the non-traditional Christmas colors look! The Winter Joy collection is a must have for everyone. It's perfect for any of your winter layouts and projects!

Here is a look at my angel. It is difficult to see the scale, but she is about 16 -18 inches tall.

DesignTips: This was made with a paper mache tree topper cone. To make the wooden head stay on well, I cut the top off to give myself more of a base to adhere it to.

The arms are paper that is draped and glued over two pipe cleaners to help hold it's shape. Give your paper a very light spray of water to shape the curve of the arm and then hide the ends behind the wings on the back. Use hot glue to add the boa to the edges of the 'sleeves'.

To make the floral 'arrangement' that the angel is holding, I adhered everything to a circle of paper and then glued it all at once where her hands would be. The chipboard snowflakes are held to the ribbon by using two that are the same size and sticking them together with the ribbon in between.

Trick or Treat at Bo Bunny

It's almost October which means that we will be starting to see so many little goblins coming out to play! The Bo Bunny Blog is featuring some FABULOUS ideas for Halloween decor today! You have got to stop by and see what the DT has done with the brand new Whoo-ligans collection. I can't believe all the fun decorating ideas there! It's a Must See post for sure!

Here is a little candy holder that I made for the post. This one is such fun and super easy.

Simply cover a container with paper, add embellishments and tie a bow for the container. The 'ruffled' edging is just a border punch. I just cut slits in it between the scallops and rolled each scallop around a pencil.

To add the candy and the embellisments to your arrangement, simply fill your container with a piece of florist's foam and push in the lollipops. Add gumballs and other candies to a bamboo skewer and push those into your foam. Finally, the fun chipboard pieces are adhered to lollipop sticks and added in.

To finish up. Cut little squares of tissue paper, push a toothpick through the center and use several to cover up your foam.
